THE ARTIST

 

Anvi is a polymath artist whose talents span the realms of acting, painting/visual arts, literature (poetry and fiction), art criticism, philosophy, filmmaking, and dance. Born and raised in Bangalore, India, she is now based in London, UK.

Her desire for artistic excellence coupled with a passion for using art to explore profound ideas and instigate individual/societal change are expressed through her multidimensional works.

For her, technical mastery of the medium and depth of concept hold equal weight. Her works blend ‘Imagination’ and ‘intellectual’; 'artistic expression' with 'philosophical insight' that provoke contemplation and stimulate the senses, emotions, and the mind.

She is interested in the beauty and complexity of the human experience. Intertwining elements of surrealism and abstract symbolism, she looks at broader fundamental questions of existence as well as individual lived experiences and contemporary narratives that spark introspection.

She navigates her different chosen mediums with sensitivity and clarity, and has a strong foundation in each. She produces works in each medium individually as well as making works that blend different mediums and styles, reflecting her multidimensional approach to creativity. 

She continues to develop a unique and individualistic path and artistic voice, often challenging the status quo and veering away from the ‘systems’ we are used to operating within.

Anvi is the founder - editor of 'SOUL SAUCE LITERARY' (2023), a bi-annual magazine featuring works at the intersections of literature and philosophy.

She also founded 'MID LIGHT PRODUCTIONS' in 2018, a platform specifically to create dance films.
