THE ARTISTE

​

Anvi Prabhu is a London based award winning artiste with a prolific, intuitive practice across the fields of acting/film-making, visual arts, literature/art writing, classical dance, and philosophy.

​

With a strong technical understanding of each form, she approaches her artforms with sensitivity and clarity. This allows her to broaden the scope of developing multidimensional, interdisciplinary creations.

Be it mixed media paintings, insightful writings and poetry films, or dance theater works using the languages of Bharatanatyam, Classical Ballet and theater; her dedication for excellence and innovation shines through.

 

She has traveled, performed, and showcased her work widely across India, China, Bhutan, USA, and the UK.

THE ARTISTIC IMPULSE

Anvi's desire for artistic merit is stimulated by a penchant for profound ideas.

Her process is both research based, and practice based. Technical mastery and depth of concept hold equal weight. Her works seek to blend the imaginative with the intellectual, creativity with scholarship.

​

Anvi is interested in the layered complexities and intricacies of the human experience. Using elements of surrealism, abstraction, and symbolism, she looks at the broader fundamental questions of existence as well as individual lived experiences and contemporary narratives that spark introspection.

She continues to seek and develop a unique and individualistic artistic voice, often challenging the status quo, normative discourses, and veering away from the ‘systems’ we are used to operating within.

ARTPRENEUR

​

To effectively unify her ideas and collaborate with other creatives, Anvi has founded several platforms.

 

She is the founder - editor of 'SOUL SAUCE LITERARY' (2023), a bi-annual magazine featuring poetry and fiction across the globe that sits at the intersections of literature and philosophy.

In 2018 she started 'MID LIGHT PRODUCTIONS' as founder and director, a company through which she focuses on creating screen-dance works and art films.

‘STUDIO VIOLET’, founded in 2024, aims to blur the lines between fine art and commercial art and offers premium fine art prints and originals.

​

Having moved to London on a Global Talent Endorsement by Arts Council England in 2017, Anvi has carved an independent niche for herself.

She has worked as the marketing manager at The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan London for five years, during which time she also had the opportunity to co-curate several artistic events. The experience has given her a leading edge in understanding the needs of artists and the demands and nuances of the art field in the current times.
