FILM-MAKING

Film is one of the most impactful and far reaching mediums in today’s world, and by combining it with the equally dynamic forces of movement and alternate visual narrative structures, Anvi strives to develop an original voice that can reach and influence a wide audience through features and short films, as well as through content for digital platforms.

NARRATIVE WORK

Anvi wrote, directed and acted in her first narrative short film in 2022.

Devised with improvisational exercises with her fellow actor Sophie Leach, the story follows the relationship between two women and how their pasts emerge in unexpected ways on their path.

MID-LIGHT PRODUCTIONS
SCREEN DANCE AND ART FILMS

The desire and inspiration to combine dance with film began during her Masters study at Chelsea College. Encouraged by her tutors to find ways to combine her practice in dance and visual arts, she began making small dance videos and clips that worked not just as a record of a performance but as performance pieces in themselves. From there, the idea of creating a company specifically to create screen dance works started brewing.

MID LIGHT was officially born in 2018 out of an earnest desire to blur the boundaries and merge the art forms of movement, visuals and poetry imbued with cutting edge, meaningful content.
